As a New Year Dawns

As a New Year dawns and we prepare for the many changes that 2014 will bring to the medical industry, I wanted to take a moment to share some interesting facts that will help you run a more efficient business in the coming year.

In 2013, we received some very interesting data about the sister publication to your Central Florida Doctor magazine. An independent third party called Verified Audit Circulation conducted an Online Reader Survey of your monthly consumer magazine, Central Florida Health News (CFHN). As Polk County Medical Association (PCMA) members, many of you receive this publication in the mail or offer it for free to your patients at the office. What you may not know is that this publication has a loyal readership in the region of approximately 35,000 residents. According to this independent survey, the readers of Central Florida Health News are the audience you want to reach, and here’s why:

  • Of the respondents, a majority of them are 45 to 54 years old. What that tells us is that our readers, on top of being health-conscious individuals, are at an age when they are more likely to need specialty care and regular health examinations.
  • The results of the Online Reader Survey also show that 50.6 percent of CFHN readers have a household income of $50,000 or more, and that 59 percent are insured through their employer.
  • We also know from the results that most of our readers do, in fact, get a copy of CFHN at a doctor’s office or waiting room. So, if your office does not carry Central Florida Health News, let us know, and we’ll be happy to add your location to our distribution list.

If you’re looking for a powerful, more effective way to communicate with the community and potential new patients, contact any of us at Central Florida Media Group.
