Med Legal Safe App Provides Instant Access To Health Information In Times of Crisis
TAMPA, Fla. — July 2025 – It has been said, “Necessity is the mother of invention,” and Hillsborough County Attorney Edward Reyes knows that all too well.
After seeing the challenges his family faced during his father’s unexpected medical crisis, Reyes created Med Legal Safe Keep, a mobile app designed to help families and medical providers access crucial medical and legal information quickly and securely.
“I wanted to build something that would make emergencies more manageable for families,” Reyes said. “After what happened with my dad, it was clear how important it is to have information instantly available.”
The app securely stores medical history, legal documents, and financial information, all of which are accessible via a simple QR code. In emergencies, scanning the code notifies emergency contacts, providing first responders with critical details. It also includes real-time location tracking for up to four hours.
Reyes built the app with his parents in mind, ensuring they will have support, even if he isn’t around. “Dad was in a coma for a long time,” said Reyes. “We didn’t know what was going on. Having Med Legal Safe Keep means my parents have a backup now.”
Med Legal Safe Keep plans to add further updates, expanding its support for overall family wellness. Available to download now, the app plans to provide families across America and beyond with the tools and peace of mind they need in emergencies.
