Adults in Central Florida living with certain types of advanced breast cancer may be able to participate in clinical research. A clinical trial enrolling in the Orlando area is studying an investigational medicine for adults with hormone receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative (HR+/HER2-) unresectable locally advanced, or metastatic, breast cancer.
The study is open at two local sites, Orlando Health Cancer Institute and AdventHealth Altamonte Springs, making participation accessible for residents in the region.

The MK-2870-010 trial is studying whether an investigational medicine, which is a type of targeted therapy known as an antibody drug conjugate (ADC), may destroy cancer cells. The goal of the trial is to evaluate if the investigational medicine may help slow down or stop the growth of HR+/HER2- unresectable locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer.
To qualify for participation in this clinical trial, you must be aged 18 or older and have HR+/HER2- unresectable locally advanced, or metastatic, breast cancer that grew or spread during hormone therapy, and you must not have been previously treated with chemotherapy.
The study team will also review other eligibility requirements with each person. Taking part in the trial is completely voluntary, and participants can leave at any time for any reason.
