WAUCHULA, Fla. (Friday, May 29, 2026) — Community members in Wauchula now have better access to health and wellness resources, thanks to recent upgrades at the AdventHealth Wauchula Wellness Center, made possible through generous support of the AdventHealth Wauchula Foundation.
Community members and AdventHealth team members recently celebrated the wellness center’s comprehensive upgrade during a special event at the center on 610 West Orange Street in Wauchula. The changes include a new multi-station functional training system, ab machines, a stair climber, a charging station, new treadmills and spin bikes. The facility also updated its main classroom with a refinished floor and new paint, creating a more welcoming space for group wellness activities.
These updates are designed to support whole-person care by providing a safe, modern and motivating environment where families can pursue their wellness goals close to home.
Bobbie Clark, supervisor of the AdventHealth Wauchula Wellness Center, said the improvements will help the team better serve people of all ages and fitness levels across the community.
“We are so thrilled and grateful for these new additions,” Clark said. “The updated equipment and refreshed space will help us welcome more community members, expand our classes and create a safer, more encouraging environment for everyone, no matter where they are on their health journey.”
The enhancements also strengthen AdventHealth’s commitment to preventive care by expanding access to programs that support physical activity, stress management and long-term well-being. With more space and updated equipment, the wellness center is better positioned to meet the growing needs of the Wauchula community.
The project was made possible through the generosity of Joe Davis Jr. and his wife, Gloria, who are longtime donors to the AdventHealth Wauchula Foundation. Davis’s father was critical in the founding of the original YMCA, which was eventually purchased by AdventHealth Wauchula and is now the AdventHealth Wauchula Wellness Center. This support helps ensure community members have access not only to high-quality medical care, but also to the resources and programs that promote healthier lifestyles and help prevent illness.
“Philanthropy plays a vital role in bringing projects like this to life,” said Jessica Carlson, foundation director. “Our donors make it possible for us to invest in programs and spaces that directly benefit our community and help people feel whole.”
The wellness center is also now offering an Intensive Cardiac Rehabilitation program for patients who have recently suffered a heart attack. It provides patients a supervised exercise program to safely regain their cardiac strength as well as an educational program that includes time with a registered dietician so that patients can implement healthy routines in their lives, improve their overall health and put in place important preventative strategies to lower their risk of worsening heart disease.
