At Central Florida Health News, we believe it’s important to take the time to pause and reflect on how far you’ve come. Recognizing and rejoicing in life’s victories fosters an attitude of gratitude. And we’re nothing if not gracious.
This year, we celebrate 12 years of Central Florida Health News. That’s 12 years of serving the community, 12 years of digging deep to share stories that echo hope and inspiration, 12 years of partnership with the local healthcare facilities, 12 years of a synchronized vision with our advertisers, and — finally — 12 proud years as the official consumer publication for the Polk County Medical Association.
Back in our inaugural edition, we knew the importance of our goal. We wanted to do more than give you the latest in health news; we wanted to put a personal face to those headlines. We wanted to share tales of real people beating the real odds and banding together to make a real difference. We also wanted to bring you relevant and timely columns from local healthcare providers. We’ve done those things, and so much more.
We formed a close partnership with local Polk County high school medical programs, and we continue to donate more than 1,500 copies of each edition during the school year to those programs.
We’ve seen a lot change in these past 12 years, and our pages have traced the twists and turns. When the pandemic cast fear and uncertainty on every day, we knew how important it was to stay true to our mission. And together, we forged ahead.
I’d be remiss if I didn’t express my gratitude for the writers, editors, and photographers who have worked tirelessly to build our brand. Most importantly, I want to thank our valued advertisers and readers. Many of them have been with us since Day One, and they make this all possible.
We’ve come this far, and by the grace of God, we’ll continue to serve this community we cherish in unimaginable ways.
