OKEECHOBEE, Fla. (Wednesday, May 06, 2026) — Dozens of community members and local organizations came together to support access to high-quality, compassionate care close to home during the 12th annual AdventHealth Clays and Camo fundraiser benefiting the AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula Foundations.
All proceeds from the event directly support programs and projects that provide care for patients and families served by AdventHealth Wauchula and AdventHealth Lake Placid and help bring new leading-edge medical equipment to the Heartland region.
More than 150 registered shooters participated in the event Friday, May 1, at OK Corral Gun Club on Northeast 48th Street in Okeechobee. The fundraiser was presented by Brasfield and Gorrie General Contractors and featured teams of four competing throughout the day.
Community support plays an important role in advancing local health care, and leaders with the AdventHealth Lake Placid and AdventHealth Wauchula Foundations expressed gratitude for the continued generosity shown by residents and business partners across the region.
“Events like Clays and Camo highlight what’s possible when our community rallies together behind a shared purpose,” said Jessica Carlson, director of foundation for AdventHealth Wauchula and AdventHealth Lake Placid. “Support from this event helps us invest back into our community, strengthening services that patients and families rely on right here at home.”
Participants competed in a variety of shotgun sports, including target shooting, with courses designed to challenge shooters through a mix of target sizes, speeds and formations.
The team from US Acute Care Solutions represented by the Highlands County Sheriff’s Office earned first place, edging out the team of Williamson Cattle/Brahman Car Wash. Joe Franza claimed the top men’s score. Deborah Durrance secured the women’s overall title, while Shird Moore earned the youth overall win.
