ORLANDO, Fla. – HCA Florida Healthcare has opened a new freestanding emergency room in Downtown Orlando as part of its continued expansion of access to care across the state. HCA Florida Downtown Emergency, an 11,260-square-foot facility in the northwest corner of I-4 and West Colonial Drive, now provides a full range of emergency medical services for adults and children.
“With more than 175,000 emergency visits annually within a few miles of this location, the need for accessible care in Downtown Orlando is clear,” said David Shimp, chief executive officer of HCA Florida Osceola Hospital. “This new emergency room brings around-the-clock, high-quality care, with convenient access for those who live, work and visit the area.”
This new ER is staffed with board-certified emergency medicine physicians and nurses 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, just like an emergency room that is housed within the walls of a hospital. Physicians and colleagues can treat a range of general emergency and specific conditions, including serious infections, chest pain and broken bones. HCA Florida Downtown Emergency also provides a range of imaging and laboratory services on site to support diagnosis and treatment.
