DAVENPORT, Fla. — AdventHealth Heart of Florida Chief Operating Officer Julie Hess has been honored with the Department of Defense Patriot Award for her support of the Guard and Reserve members who work for the organization.
The award was requested by Florida Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Jason Rivera Bravo, who is also the Environmental Services Director at AdventHealth Heart of Florida.
“Julie Hess’ unwavering support throughout my Florida Army National Guard duty has been nothing short of exceptional,” Rivera Bravo said. “Julie’s patience, understanding and genuine care for me and my family’s wellbeing, as well as my safety, have been evident at every turn. Julie embodies the values of compassion and leadership, and her actions have had a profound impact on my life. I wholeheartedly believe she is deserving of any recognition for her outstanding support and dedication.”

The award was presented during a special ceremony by Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) Chair Emeritus, Roger Trout, LTC, USA, Retired.
The ESGR said this award is unique in that it is initiated by service members themselves, who nominate their supervisors for going above and beyond in providing flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, care for families and other forms of support that make it easier for them to fulfill their military duties while maintaining their civilian careers.
