Onward and Upward

As we head into the new year, our thoughts turn to resolutions and healthier habits. The common pitfall is that too often, resolutions fade before they can even make an impact. The good news is that you can choose to commit to healthier decisions regardless of the time of year, and there’s no limit to the number of times you can recommit to your goals. Let’s face it: Exercise and good nutrition may not be fun, but good health is the gift that keeps on giving.

With the hype around semaglutide and GLP-1 as weight-loss aids steadily growing, we turned to BayCare’s Dr. Gabriela Lopez Cohen to get a better understanding of why they work best when combined with personalized care from a physician and positive lifestyle changes, especially exercise and diet.  

As many already know, Polk State College recently broke ground on its new Haines City-Davenport campus. But what you may not know is that the campus will include Central Florida’s first public higher education interdisciplinary simulation hospital. Inside, we take a closer look at how that simulation hospital will change the healthcare education and the talent pipeline for the area.
