Lakeland, FL – As part of the organization’s strategic plan, Lakeland Regional Health continues to expand access to care across Lakeland and the surrounding areas. On November 6, 2023, Lakeland Regional Health welcomed patients at its newest location at 2400 Kathleen Road. In Polk County, there is a steady physician shortage and the current ratio of primary care providers to patients is 1:2,000+. This new Kathleen Campus will directly address the physician shortage.
Lakeland Regional Health’s Kathleen Campus offers a wide array of care and healthcare services with a modern, advanced design. On 20 acres of land and over 76,000 square feet, this 3-story medical facility is equipped with 52 state-of-the-art patient exam rooms and four procedure rooms. The new location will offer primary care, family medicine, lab services, and specialty care services in neurology, pulmonology, urology, trauma medical offices, infectious disease, and endocrinology.
Additionally, the Kathleen Campus will house Lakeland Regional Health’s new Graduate Medical Education Family Medicine residency practice. These family medicine residents provide direct care to patients in collaboration with the faculty physicians.
Patients can look forward to Kathleen Campus Urgent Care coming in 2024, providing accessible care in northern Lakeland for non-emergent needs.
“Lakeland Regional Health is proud to call Lakeland home and proud to have the privilege of caring for our community. Our new Kathleen Campus will allow patients to receive high-quality, accessible care in a welcoming space designed with our patients in mind. We are thrilled to open this location and continue our promise of placing patients at the heart of all we do,” said Danielle Drummond, President and CEO of Lakeland Regional Health.
