The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer kickoff was held Sept. 8 at The Well in Lakeland. More than 40 people attended to hear this year’s goals. Attendees were served appetizers and enjoyed door prizes. Breast cancer survivor Aisha Wright delivered the keynote address. This year’s walk is being organized by the Divine 9 of Polk County, which includes the minority alumni of black greek letter organizations. The walk will take place Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. at Lake Mirror in Lakeland.
