LAKE PLACID, Fla. — On Monday, June 2, AdventHealth leaders officially revealed major upgrades to AdventHealth Lake Placid’s medical and surgical facilities. It’s all part of the efforts to make it easier for residents to get the medical care they need without having to leave their community.
As part of the celebration, dozens of residents and community leaders got the chance to tour the upgraded facilities. They include modernized inpatient and surgical services units, which feature state-of-the-art operating rooms along with renovated preoperative and postoperative areas for care. There’s also a completely redesigned sterile processing department, a critical department responsible for cleaning medical equipment among other services as part of patient safety.
“We are thrilled that so many community leaders and residents joined us to celebrate as we enter a new era of clinical care for the community of Lake Placid,” said AdventHealth Lake Placid Executive Director and Administrator Justin Evans. “We love being part of this community and the trust our patients place in our team members and facility means everything to us. We are grateful to provide these updated options to our community as we continue to provide exceptional, whole-person care.”
“So much hard work and planning went into these upgrades at AdventHealth Lake Placid and we are delighted that they will be open soon,” said Jason Dunkel, President and CEO of AdventHealth Lake Placid, Sebring and Wauchula. “This is a momentous day for this hospital and our community as we continue to strive toward being the preeminent health care system in the Heartland community.”
These are just the latest improvements and additions to AdventHealth Lake Placid. Last year, AdventHealth leaders unveiled a new design for the hospital and emergency department lobbies for outpatient care services, featuring a modern, healing environment for improved staff efficiency, compassionate care and enhanced patient safety. The work also included a new Serenity Garden at the hospital which was fully supported by the AdventHealth Lake Placid Foundation and through generous support from our Heartland community.
AdventHealth Lake Placid offers a variety of health care options. They include local medical clinic offerings, inpatient services as well as outpatient services like imaging and lab services and sports medicine and rehab, which includes physical, speech and occupational therapy. There’s also the AdventHealth Wellness Center next to the hospital. That facility features state-of-the-art equipment, personal trainers, dietary counseling, 25 group exercise classes weekly and more.
