Pole Walking Class
Held at Lake Crago Outdoor Recreation Complex, 525 Lake Crago 
Drive in Lakeland, this fun and unique class will reveal the benefits 
of walking with a pole, from strengthening your core and burning 
more calories, to managing pain and blood sugar. Fun and interac-
tive games designed to sharpen your pole walking skills and keep

June 29, 30, and July 1 • Stuff the Bus 
Hosted by Lakeland Regional Medical Center and YMCA. Do your 
part to help them stuff a big yellow school bus full of school sup-
plies for students and teachers in Polk County! Each day the bus 
will be at a different location, as listed below: 
• June 29 – Bob Adams Family YMCA, 4-7 p.m.
• June 30 – Lakeland Regional Health Medical Center / Carol Jen-
kins Barnett Pavilion for Women and Children, 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
• July 1 – Lakeland Regional Health Grasslands Campus, 8-11 a.m.
Donations requested are school supplies for both students and 
teachers, for grades K - 12, such as pencils, crayons, notebooks, 
folders, scissors, and more. For the complete list of accepted dona-

July (Mondays-Saturdays) • Sensational Senses @ Florida 
Children’s Museum
Held at the Florida Children’s Museum, 600 Bonnet Springs Blvd 
in Lakeland, this hands-on event for children ages 6 and younger 
will encourage them to experience the world through their senses, 
discovering new textures, sounds, and smells. Meet in the Water-
melon Seeds Gallery from 1:30-2 p.m. in the Fruit Bowl program-
ming area.
July 6 • Alzheimer Association In-Person Caregiver  
Support Group
A safe and supportive environment for discussions and education 
about Alzheimer’s and specifically geared towards caregivers of 
friends or family members with Alzheimer’s. Confidential and ed-
ucational, participants can develop methods and skills to assist in 
June 18 • Autism Spectrum Community Education Series
Winter Haven Hospital Foundation presents a series of free, Thurs-
day evening seminars/meetings for family members, caregivers, 
and service providers to help learn strategies for communicating 
with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Participants 
will learn how to create sensory-friendly environments and use Ap-
plied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques to help those with autism 
express preferences/tolerance for health care related procedures, 
as well as discuss tips/methods to help manage behaviors like ag-
gression and non-compliance during exams, procedures, and vac-
cinations. From 5-7 p.m. at the BayCare Medical Group FSU/WHH 
Family Medicine Residency, 1201 First Street South, in Winter Haven.

June 18 • Stroke Survivor and Caregiver Support Group
When you or someone you care for has a stroke, staying informed 
and meeting with other stroke survivors and caregivers is important. 
Join other stroke survivors and caregivers at this free support group 
meeting from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Please note, if you are planning to 
attend in person, the group will be held in the Kathy Hunt Learning 
Center located on the second floor of the Carol Jenkins Barnett 
Pavilion for Women and Children at 1324 Lakeland Hills Blvd. in

June 20 • Sunrise Yoga @ Bonnet Springs Park
A special, free sunrise yoga session led by Yoga Pointe from 7-8:30 
a.m. on the Boathouse Lawn. All ages and abilities are welcome! 
Come rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit celebrating both In-
ternational Day of Yoga and the Summer Solstice! A bottle of water, 
sunscreen, and a towel are all highly recommended to bring along. 
At 7:45 a.m., a sound bath meditation will be led by Amy Under the 
Oak and Cassie Moore, sound healer, from 8–8:30 a.m. 
 
June 23 • Cancer Support Group
Held every fourth Tuesday of the month, learn fun and engaging 
exercises that will keep you moving, healthy, and smiling with other 
individuals on a similar cancer journey. The cancer support group 
to share stories of survivorship, hope, and strength is held after the 
exercise class. Located at the Hollis Cancer Center, 3525 Lakeland 
Hills Blvd. in Lakeland, the exercise run starts at 5 p.m. and the sup-
port group starts at 5:45 p.m. No RSVP is required – feel free to just
