Editor’s Dose: Don’t miss out on this issue’s Healthy Cook article

As I spoke with various doctors and medical professionals on this month’s topic of breast cancer, several themes were emphasized. Specifically, the importance of a healthy diet and nutrition is one thing that doctors are really focusing on for the long-term overall health of their patients.

For this reason, we could not leave out our Healthy Cook spotlight for this edition. If you haven’t noticed already, the Healthy Cook article has been temporarily moved from the print pages to our website as this edition’s Web Exclusive Feature.

The article – along the same lines of what we’re hearing from local doctors – resounds the message that “No Matter How You Slice It, Cooking is Key” to a healthy lifestyle.

Local physician Dr. Dale Wickstrom-Hill, a Polk County Medical Association member, and nurse practitioner Maggie Wimberly offer some suggestions on this topic. To read the article now, scan the QR code below, or go to www.CentralFloridaHealthNews.com and click on “Web Exclusive Feature” under the “Health News” menu option.

Also, while you’re there don’t forget to sign up for our free e-newsletter. You can get recipes, the latest local health news, contribute to online polls, and more.

If you have questions, comments or feedback about anything you see in this edition of Central Florida Health News, just write me an e-mail or send letters to 199 Avenue B NW, Suite 240, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
